Recycling in Dobbs Ferry
 

All recyclable material should be placed at the curb by 7:00 AM. Refer to your Village Newsletter for details and schedules for weeks in which there is a holiday.

Items to Recycle:

• Newspapers, cardboard, magazines, soft cover books, junk mail and catalogs are recycled every Wednesday. Place the items in a brown paper bag, cardboard box, recycle bin, or tied in a bundle. DO NOT place the items in a plastic bag.

• Glass, aluminum and tin cans, and number one and two plastic food containers are recycled every Wednesday. Place these items in a recycle bin or uncovered trash can. DO NOT place these items in a plastic bag.

• "White metal" is picked up every Wednesday. "White metal" consists of large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers, water heaters, furnaces, bicycles, exercise equipment, or any other large metal items. You must call 693-5506 to make an appointment for a large metal pickup.

• Textiles may be placed in the numerous private bins located throughout the Village.

• Automobile tires, batteries, and motor oil can be brought to the Highway Garage at 99 Cedar Street.

• Television picture tubes and computer monitors can be placed at the curb with your regular garbage. They will be picked up as a separate collection.
